Stress test your plan
Markets don't hand you six percent a year on schedule. Scenario Lab+ supports industry standard stress testing to reveal your plan's resilience to the unexpected.

Alice's plan, Ontario. A plan has to pass all three tests before it is rated Robust.
Monte Carlo Simulations
Across 1,000 simulations, Monte Carlo randomizes the return in every year of the plan. You'll get a success rate, a median outcome, the balance the best tenth of runs finish on, and the age the money typically runs out in the runs that fail.
Replayed against real history
Instead of randomizing, replay the plan against every real S&P 500 return sequence since 1928. That is 69 retirement cohorts, one for each start year, run to the end of your horizon. You see how many survived, the best and worst years anyone could have retired into, and a bar per cohort you can click to follow its whole path.
Because the order matters more than the average
A crash in year two does far more damage than the same crash in year twenty, since the early loss comes out of the balance every later withdrawal depends on. Four real market eras replay that timing against your plan, from the Great Depression to the lost decade, each charted beside your base case with a note on what made those years hard.
Why pay for Scenario Lab+?
We built Loonie Nest for our family, colleagues, and friends. Not for the big banks or advertisers. Staying independent keeps us focused on our mission - making financial tools and education accessible for all Canadians.
Your subscription directly funds ongoing development of the planner, and is shaped by feedback from the 14,000+ people who've already built a plan with it.
Loonie Nest is built in Canada, for Canadians. Support 🇨🇦 businesses, workers, and products.
For every household
A plan from a financial advisor can run $3,000 or more. Scenario Lab+ gives you that same depth for $59 a year.
Privacy comes first
Free tools make money from ads, connecting to your bank accounts, or by selling your information. We just sell subscriptions.
Funded by the people who use it
Loonie Nest grows through customers, not outside investors. That keeps us focused on the planner, not someone else's growth targets.
What people are saying
Just tried it out for shifts and kicks and it calculated the same earliest retirement year as my spreadsheets. Great, easy to use tool.
I tried the savings goal calculator (mid 30s here) and found it very easy and clear to understand. I'm a good saver but always been intimidated to figure out how I'm doing for retirement. This made it easy to know I'm doing just fine.
This app was pretty quick to figure things out and really easy to use. App looks polished, the colours look good and it's simple to use.
Love the UI and actionable recommendations at the end. Reminds me of Wealthsimple.
This is awesome! Love seeing more financial planning tools being made available to Canadians.
I'm president of a local union in Langley. Great website. Simple and effective. Looks like a good tool for our members.
